Our Mission

Supporting Athletes Today, To Become The Scholars Of Tomorrow.

The Edinburg Rising Stars Foundation is an exempt organization composed of a group of professionals working to serve the City of Edinburg’s youths. Through fund-raising efforts, the foundation works to provide young student athletes with the support that enable them to participate in various City of Edinburg Parks and Recreation Department sport leagues and programs.

The ultimate goal is to eliminate a family’s financial status as the common barrier that prevents economically disadvantaged students from participation in various parks and recreation leagues.

The foundation is also committed to awarding eight (8) scholarships annually to one female and one male student athlete at each of the four edinburg consolidated independent school district high schools to assist in furthering their post-secondary education.

Our Goals

We at the Edinburg Rising Stars Foundation strive to award $8,000 in scholarships annually to one male & one female student athlete at each of the four Edinburg CISD high schools with the hopes of growing this number. We also work towards eliminating the economic barrier that prevents kids from joining Edinburg Parks & Recreation leagues. Ultimately we want to promote our city’s youth and give them the assistance needed to be successful.

Our Fundraising

We have multiple fundraising events including a Basketball Tournament, Skeet Shoot at Mi Ranchito Ranch and Mayday 2 Crossfit Event. All these events help us raise the funds for the scholarships we grant.

Our Community Involvement

We’ve awarded $250 to five ECISD elementary P.E. programs for having the greatest number of participants in the annual Edinburg 10k. The elementary programs were LBJ, Jefferson, Ramirez, Hargill and Eisenhower! We have also pledged to donate a portion of the proceeds from the Mayday 2 Crossfit Event to the local Wounded Warriors Project. Plus, we’ve pledged $5,000 to assist families with Edinburg Parks & Recreational league fees.
